About Piedmont
The five G’s
Our Mission is to allow God to create an atmosphere where people can belong in a healthy relationship with God and others and become more like Jesus Christ each day!
In order to foster this healthy relationship Piedmont Church has adopted the five Gs. We encourage all who attend Piedmont Church to strive to adopt the five Gs in their life. They are:
Personal Growth
Every weekend you will benefit from practical messages designed to help you grow in your spiritual journey no matter where you are on it. However, we believe that personal spiritual growth is the responsibility of every individual. To often people assume that the church they attend is responsible for their spiritual growth, not so. So in addition to attending our weekend services and getting involved in a group we must learn to spend quality time with God on a regular basis. For most of us this means beginning our day with personal Bible study, journaling, and prayer. It is our goal here at Piedmont Church to teach you how experience personal spiritual growth in order to develop a healthy relationship with God.
Using our Gifts
God has given all of us unique gifts and talents. We use our gifts through the church so that we can fulfill God’s purpose for our lives. At Piedmont Church we provide a variety of opportunities for using our gifts by volunteering. We encourage everyone who calls Piedmont Church home to jump in and volunteer no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. We believe that using our gifts is an issue of the heart, therefore we don’t give spiritual gift tests instead, we encourage everyone to jump in somewhere and start volunteering. As you volunteer we believe that God will lead you to the best place to serve Him through the church.
Community through Groups
God created us for relationships. Many people think becoming a follower of Christ is about getting religion. Nothing could be further from the truth. God desires that we have an authentic relationship with Him. He also desires that we have authentic relationships with each other. At Piedmont Church we encourage everyone to get involved in a group. We call them Community Groups.
Visionary Giving
When it comes to giving to God through the church we believe that our primary motivation for giving should be vision. We should give because we have the same vision God has for the world. When we do give to our local church we have a vision for changed lives. At Piedmont Church there is one primary ways we give with vision, through our regular tithes and offerings.
Greater Impact
God is at work in each of us, in order that he might do a great work through us. We call this greater impact. Every weekend here at Piedmont Church we believe we can have greater impact by inviting those disconnected from Christ and the church to attend our weekend service. Our service is designed to cause people to experience church like they never have. In addition to what happens here on the weekend we seek to establish relationships worldwide to help those who struggle due to poverty and oppression. Piedmont Church will send money and manpower globally to support and encourage the poor.
When the Five Gs are a part of your philosophy of living we believe that you will grow and thrive beyond your comprehension. We are committed to only do those things that encourage the development of the Five Gs in you.
